Samosa

Samosa is Indian origin food and it is great for appetizers. I usually make this dish when I make too much mashed potatoes or cooked too much potatoes. You can freeze this dish and use it for a party.

Ingredients

  • 2 mid size potato

  • 1/4 cup frozen green peas (thawed)

  • 1/2 tsp curry powder

  • salt pepper

  • 1 package large gyoza skin

  • frying oil

Directions

  • Make "curry potato mash" first. Wash and dice potatoes and cook until done.
  • Drain well and put it in a large bowl to mash. Add curry, salt pepper and peas. Mix an cool it.
  • Prepare the gyoza skin. As the photo below, in one gyoza skin, put some potato mix and close it like a half moon shape. (depending on the size of the potato, you can make about 10 samosas.
  • Deep fry (or pan fry) the samosas until golden brown.
  • You can add yogurt + mayonnaise sauce or eat as is.

Notes

  • Yogurt + mayonnaise sauce (1/4 cup yogurt and 1/4 cup mayo)
