Barcelona, Spain

sagrada familia

I kept saying that I wanted to go to Barcelona for about five years, and I finally made it happen in 2018. It’s important not to give up easily.

I wanted to see Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s art and an enormous cathedral which is still under construction. The construction started in 1882 and expected to complete in sometime 2026.

I thought it was in a countryside, but quite surprisingly was in the middle of a town. You get off the subway and there it is…

It is a masterpiece. The three sides of the building have different themes, and sculptures were also given a completely different feeling.

Paella! Spain has a well-developed food culture. Even though there is no bad food, the classic seafood Paella was out of this world. When you eat one spoonful of paella, you taste “ocean” in your mouth.

Tapas! Tapas is small bar food. Since all dishes are pretty small, you can eat different dishes as well as hopping to different bars. Love it.
