This is a recipe that my husband’s friend taught me. He was about 35 then and was beginning to take some interest in cooking.
Now he is a very good cook (at home) and a househusband. His wife is a university professor.
I learned from them that “norm” or “typical” role of a couple is nonsense. They’re a cool couple.
Originally this recipe was of a famous American cookbook called Betty Crocker. It takes only Roman lettuce, but the dressing is very tasty.
Because the name of “Caesar”, I thought it was created by Emperor Caesar. Actually, it was completely different. An Italian cook named Caesar in California made the recipe. Oh well. Well, Emperor Caesar probably didn’t make salads… I guess.

Ingredients
1smallRoman lettuce (diced)
1tspAnchovy paste (tube)
1Egg yolk
1smallGarlic clove (diced)
1/2lemon (2 TBS juice)
1/2tspDijon mustard
Salt pepper
3TBSExtra virgin olive oil
1TBSParmesan cheese
1packagecrouton (store bought)
Directions
Wash Roman lettuce and cut bite size. Pat dry and keep it in the fridge.
Make Caesar salad dressing: In a bowl, mix anchovy paste, garlic, egg yolk, salt pepper, lemon juice and olive oil.
Put Roman lettuce in a serving bowl, mix with the dressing. Add croutons and parmesan cheese. Serve.
