Puttanesca Spaghetti

Puttanesca is originated in Naples. It is made from black olives, capers, anchovies, garlic, and tomato sauce. It is a very easy sauce, briefly cooked, and is very tangy.

This recipe uses already prepared tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup prepared tomato sauce (recipe below)

  • 2 TBS olive oil

  • 1 TBS capers (drained)

  • 1 tsp Anchovy paste

  • 2 TBS sliced black (or green) olives

  • 1/4 package spaghetti (for 2 people)

  • 1 clove garlic (diced)

Directions

  • Boil water and cook spaghetti (1 min less than instructed on the package). Keep some of the spaghetti water.
  • In a medium sized pan, heat olive oil and add anchovy paste and garlic.
  • Add capers, olives and tomato sauce. Mix well.
  • When spaghetti is ready, Take spaghetti and put it in the sauce. Keep cooking for one min.
    If it is not saucy enough, add some of the spaghetti water.
  • Plate and add parmesan cheese (if you like).
